Still plenty of fantastic bargains in the markets this week.
Same as last week, the moderate temperatures in Bowen in Far North Queensland see the flush on both red and green capsicums continue into this week. The Sydney basin provides us with some excellent quality kale and green Shanghai this week, all of which represent excellent value.
English spinach, imperfect kumera, imperfect baby eggplants, Kent pumpkin, broccolini, and celery are in good supply this week and affordably priced. Broccoli and cauliflower remain in good supply, and lettuce volumes look like they are on the increase as the week goes on.
In Fruit
Another great week for berries. Strawberries continue to be good value and excellent quality. Raspberries keep coming into the markets and are of great value and quality.
Hass avocados are in great supply this week. These avos represent some of the very best-eating avocadoes of the year... grown in Balmoral orchards in Toowoomba in the Darling Downs region of southern Queensland. Great bargain for Hass in all stores this week. Also, our pick this week, Sweet Delights are at amazing price perfect for lunchbox, salads or a quick healthy snack.
In citrus, Cara Cara oranges are in a flush this week. At half of last week’s retail price, they are great value. These navel oranges have distinctively pink flesh and are fragrant, sweet fruit. They are from the Riverina district in NSW, and have a relatively short season in comparison to the traditional navel oranges. Enjoy them while you can.
