Dave's Market Update - 9 August 2023
In Veg
Another week of plentiful vegetables. Leading the charge this week are fantastic new season brushed potatoes from the Hillston area. They are a good sized brown soil potato at a fantastic price. Lots of other bargains this week as well. Our regular favourite in NSW stores is on again, coriander at 99 cents bunch. Leeks, broccoli, Iceberg lettuce and cauliflowers are all very inexpensive and all top quality.
This weekend, we will have a red hot special on midi cos lettuce. As the weather starts to warm up, we appear to in for a real glut of vegetables this spring.
In Fruit
Our value offer this week is the imperfect navel oranges . We haven’t seen this price for years. It's another excellent berry week coming up. Strawberries and blueberries particularly both inexpensive , both superb quality. Avocados continue to be inexpensive, and our quality is the best.
All citrus are good and cheap. Imperfect lemons, Tangelos, mandarins ( no more Imperials, I am loving the Murcotts) lots of choices everything from large premium fruit to imperfects, you really can't go wrong. The beautiful blood oranges are really eating well now. Also Kiwi, apples, and pears are all at their peak now. Unfortunately, the USA cherries will finish up this week, it's been a great year for them. We do have some ripe beautiful out of season figs in store, quite dear but fantastic fruit.
