Pick of the Week - French Eschallots

french eschallots pick of the week
My pick this week is French Eschallots. Our Australian eschallots come from the North West of Tasmania where they are grown by the Korperschoek family, who grow potatoes and onions, and milk cows on their farm. We love dealing with family farms such as these.

They have a fantastic crop this year and we will have them in all our stores this week at half last week’s price. They keep very well, so feel confident to buy a month or two of your requirements at this great price.

They are milder than onions and are used extensively in Asian and French cooking. Although they’re available all year round, it’s rare they are sold for the incredible price that Harris Farm has this week!

HOW TO PICK
Think onions. Eschallots should be firm and heavy for their size. Avoid spongy or sprouting eschallots.

HOW TO STORE
Keep in a cool, dry, dark place and they can last up to a few months.
