How to: Oven roasted chestnuts



  1. Preheat oven to 200C.u00a0
  2. Cut an u2018Xu2019 shape into the flat side of each chestnut using a sharp knife.
  3. Place the chestnuts on a in a baking tray or in a metal frying pan and sprinkle lightly with water.
  4. Roast for 15-20 minutes. Move them around the tray or pan while roasting to ensure they donu2019t burn. Once tender remove them from the oven.
  5. Wrap chestnuts in a tea towel and squeeze them to remove their skins and peel.
Tip: Chestnuts become difficult to peel once cool, peel them quickly after roasting using a tea towel or heat proof gloves.
