Golden Turmeric Chia Pots with Caramelised Banana | Harris Farm Markets

INGREDIENTS:

For the Chia Pots:

  • 2 cups Almond Milk (or any other plant based or regular milk of your choice)

  • 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric Powder

  • 1/2 teaspoon Cinnamon Powder

  • 1 tablespoon Maple Syrup (or honey!)

  • 4 tablespoons Chia Seeds

For the caramelised bananas: 

  • 2 x bananas

  • 4-6 tbsp granulated sugar

 

METHOD:

For the caramelised bananas (to be made morning of serving): 

  1. Slice your bananas length ways.

  2. Pour sugar onto a plate. Roll bananas in sugar, until completely coated.

  3. Add a dash of oil to a pan and over medium to high heat, add in your bananas.  

  4. Cook bananas until light to golden brown underneath, about 4-5 minutes (you can lift with a spatula or fork to peek). Be careful not to overcook or burn them (if you smell them browning, or see color in the pan, flip them right away). Keep in mind these times will vary, depending on your stove.

  5. Gently flip bananas over to brown other side, turning heat down to medium. The second side will brown in about one minute.

For the chia pots: 

  1. In a pot add milk of your choice, turmeric powder, cinnamon powder and honey or maple syrup

  2. Bring your pot to a quick boil and simmer for 2 minutes. Take off the stove and mix in your chia seeds. Pour into an airtight container or glass jars and leave to refrigerate overnight. 

  3. To serve, cut the bananas in half and place them lengthways up the sides of some nice glasses. Pour in the chia seed mixture and top with fruits of your choice, or some granola!
