When to Buy Apples
By far the best apples of the season are New Season Apples - this is when they are at their freshest and most juicy. The Australian Apple picking season starts in January or Febuary with Jonathan's, Golden Delicious and Red Delicious Apples the first to drop. Jonagolds, Fuji's and Braeburns are picked in March and later still are Braeburns, Pink Ladies, Granny Smith and Jazz Apples between April and May. New Season apples tend to be brighter in colour, firmer and bursting with flavour.
