Prep time: 10 mins

Cooking time: 10 mins

Serves: 4

Ingredients

  • 1 Bunch Shallots
  • 2 Garlic Cloves
  • 1 Tbsp Butter
  • ½ Tbsp Honey
  • Salt and Pepper

Method

  1. Preheat a BBQ grill or a grill pan to high heat.
  2. Finely slice the garlic.
  3. Clean the shallots by removing the old leaves and wiping them with a damp cloth. Cut off the root ends and place them on a tray.
  4. Drizzle some olive oil and season with salt and pepper. Toss well and set aside.
  5. Once BBQ or grill pan is hot, grill the shallots for approx. 3 minutes on each side until charred and soften.
  6. Meanwhile, place the butter in a small frying pan on medium high heat. Once melted add the garlic.
  7. Stir and once butter starts to bubble and change colour to golden brown, add the honey. Stir well for half a minute and remove from heat. Season with a pinch of salt.
  8. Remove the shallots from the grill once ready and pour over the garlic honey burnt butter.
  9. Serve it hot.
