Wagyu Burger with Caramelised Onions, Blue Cheese and Rocket





  • 100g rocket
  • 200g blue cheese
  • 6 tbsp salted butter
  • 4 large yellow onions, thinly sliced
  • 2 bay leaves
  • 2 tbsp thyme, finely chopped
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • salt and pepper, to taste
  • 4 Few & Far 100% Wagyu burgers
  • 4 sesame seed burger buns

Cooking Instructions 

  1. Begin by making the caramelised onions. In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, melt 2 tablespoons of butter with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Add the thinly sliced onions, bay leaves, and a pinch of salt. Cook this for 1 hour, stirring often to prevent the onions from catching and burning at the bottom.
  2. During the last 15 minutes of cooking, add the chopped thyme to the onions and stir well.
  3. Season the Few & Far 100% Wagyu burgers with salt on both sides. Grill them to your preference using the 3-4-1 method: 3 minutes on one side, 4 minutes on the other, and then 1 minute on the last side. During the last minute of grilling, add about 50g of blue cheese to each burger to melt.
  4. While the burgers are resting, butter the inside of the burger buns with softened butter and toast them.
  5. To assemble, start with the toasted bun, add some caramelised onions, place the Few & Far 100% Wagyu burger with melted blue cheese on top, add a handful of rocket, and then cap it with the other half of the toasted bun. Enjoy!
