Nutella Puff Pastry Bunnies

Serves: 8 


Pastry Bunnies: 

  • 200gm of Nutella 
  • 2x sheets of puff pastry 
  • 1x egg 

Whipped Cream: 

  • ¼ cup heavy cream 
  • 1x tablespoons of caster sugar 


  1. Preheat the oven to 200C fan force and line a baking tray with baking paper. 
  2. On a sheet of puff pastry, spread over the Nutella right up until the edges and corners. 
  3. Add another layer of puff pastry on top, then slice the pastry into roughly 2.5 inch strips lengthways. 
  4. Roll up a strip of pastry until roughly a ¼ is left, then shape the ears, pressing the middle and end into the body so that it holds. Repeat for all pastry strips and place onto the baking tray. 
  5. This step is optional, but to achieve a golden brown colour, brush with egg wash (just one egg whisked). 
  6. Put the bunnies in the oven for 10 minutes, leaving for a minute or so extra if it needs browning. 
  7. Meanwhile, whip the cream and sugar in a bowl with an electric beater until the cream is thick and forming peaks. 
  8. Remove the bunnies from the oven, the ears may have puffed out of shape. If so, while they’re still warm, mould them back into shape by pressing them together with spoons. Leave to rest for at least 10 minutes. 
  9. Spread the whipped cream over the centre of each bunny’s face. Serve and enjoy!
