Infused Olive Oils

 

These homemade Asian-inspired infused olive oils are the perfect gift for Mother’s Day! Sichuan Pepper + Chilli + Garlic Olive Oil 

A spicy number to add over rice, noodles, or bread. 

Ingredients 

  • 250ml olive oil 

  • 1 Tbsp Sichaun peppercorn 

  • 6 dried red chillis 

  • 4 garlic cloves (skins removed, smashed) 

  • 1 Tbsp sweet chilli flakes (optional) 

      

Method 

  1. Add the oil, peppercorn, chillis and garlic to a saucepan and simmer for about 10 minutes or until the garlic starts browning.
  2. Turn off the heat, remove the garlic and add in your chilli flakes (if using).
  3. Cool oil, then strain into a jar.   

 

Curry Leaf + Ginger + Turmeric Olive Oil

Warm and earthy oil perfect with roast veggies 

Ingredients 

 

  • 250ml olive oil 

  • 20 curry leaves 

  • 3cm ginger (sliced) 

  • 3cm turmeric (sliced) 

  • 1 tsp ground turmeric (optional)  

Method 

  1. Add the oil, curry leaves, ginger and turmeric to a saucepan and simmer on low for about 10 minutes.

  2. Turn off the heat and add in your turmeric powder (if using).

  3. Cool oil, then strain into a jar.

     

     

Lemongrass + Kaffir Lime + Galangal Olive Oil

Fragrant citrus finish for salads

Ingredients 

  • 250ml olive oil 

  • 5 kaffir lime leaves (slightly torn) 

  • 1 lemongrass (sliced) 

  • 3cm galangal (sliced) 

Method 

  1. Add the oil, lime leaves, lemongrass and galangal to a saucepan and simmer on low for about 10 minutes.

  2. Cool oil, then strain into a jar.
