Christmas Wheat Decorations

 

 

Ingredients: 

  • 3 bunch’s dried wheat 
  • Natural string 
  • Rubber bands 
  • Scissors 

 

Method: 

  1. Cut off the wheat flower heads, these can be kept to make bunches for decorations. Pre soak the straw storks in water for a min of 4hrs. 
  2. Cut 12 storks off roughly 30cm long. Tie the bunch into the middle tightly, trim ends. 
  3. Tie together 2 storks 7cm out from the centre on both sides . Leave a single stork in-between and repeat the process so you have 8 ties in total. 
  4. Using rubber bands to help hold the star points in place, gently bend the storks to form a star point using 3 storks. Repeat the process until you have 8 star points. Tie knots at the positions the rubber bands are, then remove them. 
  5. Trim off the star point ends to be even and trim off any loose tie ends. 
  6. Add a string loop to finish them off.
