Recipe by Dan Dumbrell
Serves: 4–6
Ingredients:
Muah chee
- 1 cup glutinous rice flour
- 1 Tbsp cornstarch
- 1 Tbsp oil
- 3/4 cup water
Black sesame crumb
- 1/2 cup black sesame seeds
- 2–3 Tbsp white sugar

1) Mix glutinous rice flour, cornstarch, oil and water into a smooth batter.
2) Cover with cling wrap and microwave on high for 2 minutes. Give it a quick mix, then cover and microwave on high for another 1-2 minutes or until set and cooked through and slightly translucent, then stir and press vigorously with an oiled spatula until smooth and stretchy.
3) Toast the sesame seeds in the microwave in 1 minute intervals for about 2-3 minutes, then grind/blend them into a powder. Mix the black sesame powder with sugar on a plate and set aside.
4) Using an oiled spoon or scissors, spoon or cut the muah chee into bite-sized pieces and toss generously in the black sesame sugar. Serve immediately!
