Zee's Shakshuka

Ingredients

  • 1 tbsp olive oil

  • 1 red capsicum, diced

  • 1 jar (500 g) Zee’s Shakshuka sauce

  • 4 eggs

  • 1 tbsp parsley, chopped

  • 4 slices sourdough bread, grilled or toasted

  • ¼ tsp sea salt

  • Black pepper, to taste

Method

  1. Preheat a frying pan over medium-high heat.

  2. Drizzle in the olive oil, then add the diced capsicum. Cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally, until softened and lightly browned.

  3. Pour in the Zee’s Shakshuka sauce. Stir and bring to the boil, then simmer for 3 minutes.

  4. Crack the eggs directly into the sauce. Season with salt and black pepper, then cover with a lid. Cook for 3–5 minutes, depending on how runny you like your eggs.

  5. Garnish with chopped parsley and an extra drizzle of olive oil.

  6. Serve immediately with grilled or toasted sourdough bread.
