Roasted Balsamic Strawberries
These juicy sticky roasted balsamic strawberries are great to have in your fridge for a quick treat. Spoon over yogurt or over your morning breakfast to brighten up a simple porridge or muesli.
INGREDIENTS:
500gm fresh strawberries, rinsed
1/4 cup brown sugar
4 tbsp good quality balsamic vinegar
METHOD:
-
Pre-heat the oven to 180°
-
Line a large shallow baking tray with baking paper.
-
Slice the rinsed strawberries in half and place in a mixing bowl, sprinkle over the brown sugar and balsamic vinegar. Stir to coat the strawberries.
-
Turn out all of the mixture including the excess liquid into the baking tray and bake for 15-18 minutes or until the strawberries are tender and the liquid has thickened. If you're using a smaller baking tray split the mixture over two trays.
-
Serve warm as a dessert with yogurt and a sprinkle of chopped nuts or serve cooled over breakfast porridge or muesli.
