IN VEG:
This week looks to be a very uneventful week for vegetables. Brussel Sprouts, Imperfect kumera, washed potatoes and brown onions are all great value this week. There are also bargains to be had with Chinese cabbage, but most other lines remain unchanged from last week
Citrus is abundant this week with Imperial mandarins leading the charge. Lemons are also well supplied and Aussie navels are now in all our shops. Traditional Autumn lines like quinces and Fuyu fruit are at the peak of their respective seasons. The last stone fruit of the season, West Australian flavour fall plums, are really good and very reasonably priced. Pink ladies and Fuji’s are my pick of the apples. In berries, strawberries are difficult and between seasons but luckily there are some very good Tasmanian raspberries to take their place. In avocados, the best value is in the very large fruit or our Imperfect line.
