Dave's Market Update - 16.02.22
In veg: Hand-picked premium beans are the buy of the week. Rain has spoilt this crop until now this summer, however, a weather change in Victoria has led to an abundant supply of top quality product, on special at all our stores. Kumera and more especially, Imperfect Kumera, are great quality and cheap. The glut of truss tomatoes continues, I have never seen them so cheap. So good and consistent, week after week; enjoy them, they are a real bargain!
In fruit: The bargain of the week is definitely Papaya. Another fantastic bargain are our Imperfect lemons. They are a bit small, but superb quality, and very cheap. New season Gala apples and new season Williams pears are steady at around last week’s price. Grapes of every variety, figs and Valencia oranges are still inexpensive and at their best. White Imperfect nectarines are eating fantastically and are inexpensive. A few more varieties of plums have commenced, and going forward I think the best of the plums will be better value than peaches or nectarines.
