Dave's Market Update - 13.10.21
In Veg: It’s back to Winter conditions this week; this weather has played havoc with our vegetable supplies. Traditional Winter vegetables, particularly caulies, broccoli and Dutch carrots are all still very well priced. Asparagus is not quite as cheap as last week, but continues to be a very good option in terms of quality. Tomatoes are continuing to ease in price, and Imperfects, in particular, are very good and very inexpensive!
In Fruit: Nothing new happening in fruit this week. Blueberries and Hass avocados are both plentiful and inexpensive. We have some excellent large Pink Lady apples in our stores this week at a very attractive price, and a surplus of superb eating Kensington Pride mangoes from Darwin; enjoy these now, because it doesn't look like there will be nearly as many as were available last year. Papaya and topless pines are great value, and citrus continues to be superb and cheap. School is going back in stages; I have noticed my little granddaughters, who we have now lived with for four months at the farm, absolutely devouring those little Rockit apples, they are the perfect size for the school lunch box!
