Mangosteen Each

Mangosteen Each is often called the queen of tropical fruits — and for good reason. The snow-white segments inside the deep purple shell are silky, sweet and gently floral, with a subtle tartness that makes each mouthful genuinely memorable.

Look for fruit with a firm, deep-purple shell and green, fresh-looking sepals at the top. Mangosteen is a tropical import available in limited season — handle gently and store at room temperature for a day or two or refrigerate for up to a week.

Score around the middle of the shell and twist open, eat the segments fresh on their own, fold into a tropical fruit salad, or use as a dessert garnish alongside coconut-based dishes.
