Jazz apples are available from autumn through winter. They have a long storage life after harvest, meaning quality remains consistent for much of the cooler months. Look for them when the apple season is at its height.

Look for apples that are firm and deeply coloured with a red and yellow blush and no soft spots. A firm Jazz keeps well in the fridge for weeks without losing its snap.
