Redfern Jarjum College – A Story of Support
Get to know Redfern Jarjum College…
With the opening of our Redfern store in August last year, we’ve had the honour of donating food to Redfern Jarjum College, a remarkable school providing education and holistic support to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children in Redfern.
Jarjum isn’t just a school – it’s a safe, nurturing environment where students are given the chance to thrive. Many of the children who attend have experienced complex trauma, and Jarjum exists to meet them with compassion, consistency, and care. The school’s wraparound approach includes small class sizes, specialised support, cultural education, and a daily meal program offering breakfast, lunch and two snacks every day.
Through our Neighbourhood Goodness program, Harris Farm has been proudly nourishing the students’ breakfast since the Redfern store opened. Every week, fresh produce and pantry staples make their way to Jarjum’s kitchen, helping ensure every child starts the day with a full belly and a clear mind.
We’re proud to support the incredible work being done at Jarjum and to play a small part in helping these young people feel safe, seen and supported every single day.
