Neighbourhood Goodness in Action: Harris Farm & Addi Road Nourishing Community Together

With the opening of our newest Harris Farm Markets in Marrickville, we’ve proudly partnered with Addison Road Community Organisation (Addi Road)—one of Sydney’s most impactful grassroots community centres. Every week, Addi Road collects fresh fruit from our store to support their robust food relief programs, directly nourishing people in need across the Inner West.

Addi Road Community Partnership

Who Is Addi Road?

🌏 A Multicultural Hub Since 1976

Reclaimed from military use, Addi Road now hosts 20+ community groups, art spaces, a theatre, Radio Skid Row, gardens and a Living Museum celebrating culture and place.

🥕 Food Relief With Dignity

Two food pantries (Marrickville & Camperdown) offer low-cost, rescued food—no IDs, no questions. Just fair, human-centred nourishment for all.

📊 Impact by the Numbers

In 2024, Addi Road rescued 475 tonnes of food, served 425,000+ people, and saved 70,000 kWh of energy—avoiding 55 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.

💡 Care Beyond Food

Programs like Wednesday Night Lights offer legal advice, healthcare, hot meals and connection. Their museum tells stories from First Nations to now.

Harris Farm’s Role Through Neighbourhood Goodness

  • Weekly produce donations: Since opening our Marrickville store, we’ve been supplying fresh fruit to help fuel Addi Road’s pantry and food relief efforts.

  • Pay-it-forward at checkout: Throughout August 2025, customers can “pay-it-forward” online, with contributions turned into grocery vouchers for Addi Road to distribute.

This partnership is a small but meaningful way we can help strengthen the vibrant, compassionate community of Marrickville. Together with Addi Road, we’re not just delivering food—we’re helping deliver dignity, inclusion and tangible hope for those doing it tough.
