Dave's Market Update
“This will be a very disrupted week from the supply side for the industry. The Alfred cyclone is throwing our Queensland shops, logistics and the whole of southern QLD and northern NSW transport networks into chaos. At this stage, we expect to have imperfect Williams pears and Sweet Delight tomatoes very cheap in both states. I can’t guarantee much more than that in QLD.
With a public holiday in Victoria and the chaos in QLD, it’s very hard to predict what will happen to our NSW stores. We have very good supplies of a new variety of imperfect plum, the Ruby Sugar variety. We have excellent cup mushrooms in all NSW stores and a fantastic line of good eating large rockmelons.
Hope everybody is safe over the coming few days.”

Dave's Pick of the Week
“Sweet Delights are our most popular snacking tomato. That’s not unusual because they are in my view, the best eating in this ever-expanding category. It’s a variety that has been around for a while and lots of HFM customers buy them every week.
This week they are our cheapest snacking tomato and in fact by the weekend could well be cheaper than gourmets and Romas. Rarely this price except in spring, they are perfect for the kids’ lunch boxes and a welcome addition to any salad. Stock up, this price can only go one way.”
