“I love September for the new season Australian asparagus. For the next 2 to 3 months, all our asparagus will be Australian. No white, purple or baby asparagus yet, but they will be with us soon. In addition to our standard bunch at the moment, we have beautiful double-sized Grande bunches.
By this weekend, there will be imperfect asparagus in store too - it won’t always be available but often it will be. No fat or cholesterol. Aussie asparagus is the perfect new season Spring vegetable. Growing, harvesting and packing this product is very labour intensive and it’s highly perishable, enjoy it at very competitive prices in all Harris Farm stores this week.” - David Harris
HOW TO PICKLook for firm, bright and smooth spears of uniform size with closed, compact tips. When you snap fresh asparagus it should be crisp, moist and juicy.
