Orange Valencia Imperfect Each

Imperfect Valencia oranges are the smart buy for anyone who juices regularly or goes through oranges quickly. They might be a little uneven in shape, carry a surface mark, or sit outside the size grade, but squeeze one and you get the same thin-skinned, high-juice Valencia flavour. The difference is on the outside, not the inside.

Valencia oranges are at their best from late spring through summer when Australian supply peaks and the juice content is at its highest. That is when imperfect Valencias represent the best value in the store.

Look for oranges that feel heavy for their size. A green tinge on the skin is completely normal for Valencias and has no bearing on flavour. Avoid any that feel light or have started to wrinkle.

Juice them fresh in the morning, use in dressings and marinades, or eat out of hand. Same great flavour at a better price.
