A good avocado is one of the great pleasures of the fruit bowl, and these imperfect avocados are the same story inside. They might have a small mark, an irregular shape, or sit slightly outside the size grade, but cut one open and it is all there: creamy, rich, and ready to eat.
Look for imperfect avocados that feel slightly soft at the top but not mushy. Dark, pebbly skin is a good sign. If they are still firm, leave them on the bench for a day or two to finish ripening.
Harris Farm's imperfect avocados meet the same eating quality standard as our full-price fruit. The difference is on the outside, not the inside. Mash them onto toast, slice them into a salad, or eat them straight from the skin with a little salt and lemon.
Great avocados at a better price. That is the whole idea.
