Buk Choy Shanghai Baby Bunch of 2-3 are tender, compact Asian greens with sweet, mild stems and soft, dark green leaves that cook quickly and absorb flavour beautifully. Two to three heads per bunch means enough for a generous serve.
Look for tight, firm bunches with deep green leaves and pale, crisp stems — no yellowing or wilting. Shanghai baby buk choy is available year-round and keeps in the fridge crisper for up to four days. Separate the leaves before cooking and rinse well.
Stir-fry with ginger, garlic and oyster sauce, steam and drizzle with sesame oil and soy, halve and char on a grill pan, or add to a broth or noodle soup in the final minutes.
