Pear William Each is a classic variety with a rounded, golden-green body, tender flesh and a sweet, floral flavour that's been a benchmark pear for generations. Juicy and satisfying when perfectly ripe.
Look for pears that give very slightly near the neck and have a mild, sweet fragrance. William pears are a summer to early autumn variety at their best from December through March. Once ripe, refrigerate and eat within a few days.
Eat fresh to appreciate the juice and texture, slice onto a cheese board with aged cheddar or blue cheese, poach in vanilla syrup, or use in a classic pear tart or cake.
