White peaches are excellent quality and the clear stand out in stone fruit this week. The white peaches we are getting at the moment are from Wedderburn in the Southwest of Sydney which is only 50 min from our warehouse - harvested yesterday and in-store the next day!
HOW TO PICK
Look for fruit that is smooth and unblemished. If you’re looking for one to eat right away, a ripe fruit will yield a bit when pressed gently. Because they bruise very easily, peaches should be handled with care especially when ripe.
HOW TO STORE
Store peaches at room temperature until ripe, this usually takes 2 to 3 days. To speed up the ripening process you can place peaches in a paper bag and store at room temperature, out of direct sunlight. Storing ripe stone fruit in the crisper drawer will prolong its eating life - it should keep for up to a week when refrigerated.
