Pick of the Week - Broccoli
My pick this week is one of the most consumed and popular vegetables, broccoli. The recent heatwave conditions down south severely impacted the prices in the markets and in turn the store price to being the highest I have ever seen. Somewhat more normal autumn weather has meant supplies have increased dramatically and the prices have fallen, in some cases to half last week’s price. So broccoli is now back on the menu, enjoy!
HOW TO PICK
Look for broccoli with bright green heads and compact clusters of the broccoli florets. Avoid broccoli that appears to have woody stems or those with yellow florets.
HOW TO STORE
Store broccoli in the fridge and aim to use within 5 days.
