Iceberg lettuce is still extremely popular, despite the massive numbers of salad alternatives available. Like all vegetable crops, they grow best in different areas at different times. We have recently finished our Queensland supply and have moved to the Werribee area in Victoria. Later in summer it can be too hot for the lettuce, but right now the weather is exactly right, cool nights, warmish days and little rain. Supplies are strong this week and so prices have eased, enjoy a new season, old fashioned iceberg lettuce salad this week.
