Respect Our Team - A Note to Our Harris Farm Community

Harris Farm Markets has always been about more than good food. Since 1971, we’ve been proudly family-owned and community-minded, built on fairness, respect and the joy of sharing what nature grows. People are at the core of everything we do: our customers, our team, our farmers and our partners. Our purpose is to create better experiences together for a better tomorrow, and we are deeply committed to upholding respect in every part of our business. To keep that spirit alive, we’re asking everyone to help make our stores places of kindness, patience and care.

WHY THIS REMINDER MATTERS?

Our team members work hard every day to bring you fresh food, helpful advice and friendly service. Most interactions are warm and positive, thank you for that. Lately, however, some stores have reported instances where that respect has slipped. That’s not the Harris Farm way, and it’s not the Australian way.

So you’ll notice new reminders at our entrances and checkouts, on our in-store screens and radio, and across our digital channels. They all carry the same message: please treat our people with courtesy and care.

WHAT RESPECTFUL SHOPPING LOOKS LIKE

Respectful shopping means patience when queues are long, courtesy in the way we speak to each other, and understanding when things don’t go quite right. What we cannot accept is any form of threatening, aggressive or discriminatory behaviour. A little kindness goes a long way.

HOW WE'RE SUPPORTING OUR TEAMS

To support our people, we’ve put in place clear signage at entrances and checkouts, consistent reminders on checkout screens, digital channels and in-store radio, as well as training to help our teams respond and de-escalate situations if needed. Serious incidents will always be followed up with appropriate action.

NEED HELP OR HAVE FEEDBACK?

If you need assistance in store, please speak to the store manager, who will work with you to try and resolve your issue. If the matter needs to go further, or if it did not occur in store, please contact our customer service team. They are more than happy to listen, assist and find a solution. We have zero tolerance for abusive or rude behaviour - together, we can resolve issues quickly, respectfully and without conflict.
