About Lomondo
What started as a 1500 tree grove in 1998 has now developed into a 10 000 tree family owned and operated enterprise, which has recently been recognised with awards at the Sydney, Brisbane, Perth, Adelaide, Canberra, Mudgee, Hunter Valley and Cowra Shows.
The success is due to an early April harvest. The oil is then processed within hours ensuring an outstanding robust, flavoursome finish.
Lomondo Olive Oil is also proud to be part of the Australia Olive Association's Code of Practice, which verifies the authenticity and freshness of their oil.
Their Story
Their grove is located on Loch Lomond, a 120 hectare property at Twelve Mile, Mudgee. Their grove mainly consists of Corregiola and Frantoio trees which are Italian varietals, producing an outstanding blend of extra virgin oil. They were selected for their climatic conditions, which can include temperatures down to - 7 degrees in the winter and 40 degrees in summer.
As with most agricultural or horticultural pursuits, getting the trees to this point has been a challenge. Planted by hand under drip irrigation, water has been a constant concern due to ongoing dry condition while in the winter the cold has also presented problems in parts of the grove.
They are proud to say they have come through these challenges and can now offer such a good extra virgin oil for people to enjoy.
Their Products

Lomondo Caramelised Balsamic Vinegar
Lomondo's caramelised balsamic is probably one of the only truly commercial Australian made balsamics and is produced in Mudgee on the Central Tablelands of NSW. The red wine vinegar used in the development stage has been hand made from local Mudgee red wine grapes.
- Use as a balsamic glaze for meat/roasts, drizzle over tomatoes and bocconcini cheese, mix with Lomondo Extra Virgin Olive oil for salads or dipping with crusty bread
