Dave's Market Update
In Veg
In all stores, we have green Shanghai at a ridiculously cheap price company wide. Imperfect zucchini, yellow capsicums, celery, Lebanese and Tele Cucumbers are all top quality and cheap.
There is a mile of Truss tomatoes and snacking tomatoes - all eating extremely well and all inexpensive. Those little sugar plum tomatoes in punnets are my favourite! To top all that off, fennel, kale and English spinach are all great value as well. I love the change of seasons!”

In Fruit
“Probably the most exciting news this week is the near halving in price of delicious new season large rockmelons from far north Queensland. White grapes (although imported) are the applause variety and are eating well, particularly the loose product though the bags are also pretty good.
Blueberries are still excellent to eat but don’t seem to be keeping quite as well. We are starting to move to blackberries as our berry of choice. Look for specials in these in the coming weeks; maybe even in NSW shops this weekend.
If you are like me and love your blood oranges, this might be their last week. They probably aren’t right to store so it will be back to all navels pretty soon. Enjoy the rockies!”

Dave's Pick of the Week
Melons only get their flavour when the weather is warm and that same weather which is now in Sydney means it’s the food we want to eat. Rockmelons fell out of favour a few years ago, however, are now regaining their popularity.
These melons are quite large and this week at a $3.99 ticket - are very close to half last week’s price.
You can leave them out of the fridge for a couple of days only if they are whole. Once cut or if you buy a cut melon they MUST go in the fridge. Enjoy this taste of summer from Harris Farm Markets.”
