Dave's Market Update - 8.09.21

Fruit: Lots of options here this week. Pink Ladies are on again and cheap. Mangoes are looking better this week, a bit cheaper and better to eat. Blueberries and especially our premiums are absolutely stunning, delicious and very reasonably priced. Other berries are good value too, and there are even a few mulberries about as well. Papaya is at its best now and avocadoes, mandarins, all apples and pears are all fantastic.

Veg: My family and I, all locked down at our farm, are loving the purple sweet potato, sometimes Imperfect, sometimes premium, but both great value in our stores this week. Asparagus is still the bargain of the shop with prices a little lower than last week; it’s all Australian grown, fresh and delicious. English spinach is as good as it gets, and great value. Caulis, leeks, Dutch carrots, and fennel - all traditional Winter lines - are easing in price, as this magnificent Spring weather continues. Celery, kale and various Chinese vegetables, all new season, are all plentiful, inexpensive and fabulous quality. It’s a vegetable bonanza, enjoy it while it lasts!
