Dave's Market Update - 31 May 2023

Dave's Market Update for the 31st of May 2023. Image is a collage featuring celery, strawberries, corn, USA cherries, Brussels sprouts, washed potatoes, leeks, imperial mandarins, and white grapes.

In Veg

Brussels sprouts are our best value vegetable this week, great price, top quality and the right weather to enjoy them.

Caulies, corn and washed potatoes have all eased substantially this week.  Celery remains inexpensive as do shallots, baby cukes and leeks.

In Fruit

The first of the imported cherries have started, as always the first are not as good as what will follow, however, they are something different. Imperial mandarins are still eating well and are cheap. We have a very good line of lunchbox bravo apples in NSW stores which are fantastic to eat.

Australian grapes are near the end, don’t try to hold these, buy them and use them. We are still a week or so away from good strawberry supplies. What we do have in stores are very good eating but still quite expensive.  Can't wait for the berries to get going.
