IN FRUIT:
There is a plethora of great quality fruit on offer again this week, with berries back in a big way. The moderate temperatures down South have allowed for strong volumes of good quality fruit, with prices easing to accommodate extra volumes into the markets. Our Premium Blueberries are magnificent this week - they may be Premium Blueberries, but the price sure isn't! From Far North Queensland, weather conditions have been conducive to great eating blackberries, so you'll see more of those around in store.
Seedless melon continues to ease in price as the Queensland season swings into full production, with eating quality exceptional at the moment. Papaya keeps on producing strong numbers. For those who are yet to try papaya, I urge you to give them a go this week. They are eating magnificently and pair well with a squeeze of lime!
Mangoes from Darwin are in the peak of season this week and are as sweet as honey. Go straight to our Imperfect mangoes if you're looking for great value! For the indulgent, grab a tray of the best eating mangoes for $19.99.
IN VEG:
Overall the veg market is quite good this week, however there are a couple of notable exceptions. Broccoli and cauliflower are short supplied, there are signs that the market is weakening and by this time next week we could see a completely different market.
The market is well supplied with eggplants, kale, mushrooms, kumera, Dutch Carrots, rhubarb, baby cucumbers and Lebanese cucumbers. A couple of lines in good supply worth noting are coriander and Green Shanghai Buck Choy. Snacking tomatoes are in abundance again this week. The snacking tomatoes we are promoting this week are the petite tomatoes. At a great price, petite tomatoes are perfect for salads or just eating as a healthy snack on their own.
Our supply of organics this week is strong, with promotions on Cherry tomatoes and 1kg Organic Carrots.
