Dave's Market Update - 16 November 2022

A collage of seasonal spring fruit and veg, including mango, asparagus, bananas, tomatoes, papaya, chillies, cucumber and broccolini

In Fruit

More mangoes! We are now moving into the best mangoes of the year, the KPs from Katherine. Only a couple of hundred kilometres south of Darwin, the climate is better for mangoes. Additionally, we have large quantities of the R2E2 variety available. Bananas continue to be great value, as does papaya.

This week, we have some good eating, good value rockmelons in stores. They are large in size, great value, and great eating because of the weather up north. It's down south that we are still having problems affecting berries.

In Veg

At this stage there are still lots of good veg options out there despite the rain. Snacking tomatoes are still fantastic value, especially those little Tiny Toms which I think make a salad. Cucumbers continue to be inexpensive. Shallots, Dutch carrots, and asparagus are all great value.

We have an interesting line of green bullhorn chilies in our NSW stores this week, they are great on the barbie. Look for broccolini not broccoli this week for value.
