Dave's Market Update - 10.11.21
In Fruit: Our berry special this week is blackberries; great price, excellent value and a nice change from the blueberries, which are copping a hiding with the weather up north. Bananas are easing in price, as are limes and papaya. In mangoes, Honeygolds are just getting underway; they are a fantastic eating mango, and by next week we will have plenty of them! The massive supply of avocadoes continues and our customers are now waiting for stone fruit to really get underway. All this rain could make the early cherries a bit tricky this year!
In Veg: Fantastic quality, well priced washed potatoes are in all of our stores this week. Telegraph cucumbers are very good value as are Dutch carrots, snacking tomatoes and asparagus. Truss tomatoes are still the cheapest option for the category and, in good news, broccoli is easing in price. Iceberg lettuce is still very reasonable; nothing is overly expensive this week!
