Dave's Market Update - 02.06.2021

IN VEG:
This week we are starting to draw all our vegetable supplies from Queensland as the cold bites in Victoria. Red caps, which have not been fantastic, are now good and red again and a little less expensive. Rhubarb, which is grown right here in the Sydney basin has really eased in price. Celery and pumpkin continue to be at bargain prices, and cabbages, beans, Imperfect parsnips and Imperfect zucchini are all available at fantastic prices.

IN FRUIT:
The best news this week is the fantastic eating new season Queensland strawberries are at their best again; great eating, well supplied and very affordable. We also have a fantastic line of slightly bigger Pink Lady apples that are eating superbly, and again, are extremely well priced. Superb quality and very inexpensive Hass avocadoes continue to flood the market. Grapes, citrus and pears are all still great value also. The USA imported stone fruit has started again – I think it’s dear but good; a far better go than the grapes they send later in the year.
