Dave's Market Update - 01.7.20
IN FRUIT:Â
Still loads of citrus from down south but next we have some wonderful fruit from Queensland. Bananas, topless pineapples, rockmelons and papaya are all superb eating and well riced this week. Imperfect pears and nets of passionfruit all remain very good value. Of course, the beautiful winter strawberries and blueberries just improve every week and remain the most popular of our winter fruits.
IN VEG:Â
Biggest drop this week is with celery, it has virtually halved in price. The other major price reduction has been with snow peas. Again, it’s all top-quality, new season product and very attractively priced. Beautiful handpicked beans, by far the best quality available, have eased and are great value but of course, will always be dearer than the run of the mill machine picked product that our supermarket competitors prefer to sell!
Capsicums, broccoli, broccolini and cauliflowers all remain as cheap as they were last week and again the quality is as good as it gets. Parsnips, kumera and zucchini and especially the Imperfect product in each of these lines, remains a fantastic option. Finally, we see Brussels sprouts starting to ease in price. So many options to fill the plate this week.
