This week sees the biggest dispatch of mangoes out of the territory this year. Kensington Pride mangoes from Darwin are great eating and the prices are easing daily. For great value, our tray sales Kensington pride mangoes have hit the stores this week and are awesome. T.P.P. mangoes are those banana shaped mangoes in our stores. They are a really sweet eating mango experience. The T.P.P> season is only a couple of weeks in duration so for the adventurous shoppers, give them a go. R2E2 mangoes are in all stores this week, a little later than recent years. R2E2s mangoes have a unique flavour that is subtle and delicate.
From North Queensland this week we have an abundance of great eating rockmelon and papaya. The value is in the smaller sized melon.
Plenty of great opportunities in the markets this week. The rain last week has seen the leafy green crops continue to flourish with a spinach, beetroot, kale, Asian greens and herbs all in good supply and great quality. Zucchini, cucumbers, snow peas, leeks, kumera, fennel, lettuce and machine pick beans are all in good supply.
All snacking tomatoes are amazing at the moment. Supply is constant with prices and quality both excellent. Sweet delights are a favourite amongst our shoppers and are the pick of the snacking tomatoes this week. Plenty of good value in our Imperfect tomatoes this week. Imperfect tomatoes from Bowen in Far North Queensland have some blemishes caused by winds, so at a fraction of the price, they are the perfect Imperfect.
The volumes of Australian asparagus show no sign of relenting this week. Asparagus is incredible value and quality as we are in peak of season at present. The warmer days and the full moon have caused the Lebanese cucumber crops to flourish, so they are our pick this week. Quality is amazing and they are on special in all stores.
We have a plethora of great buys in organic this week with black zucchini, Dutch cream potatoes, carrots, baby bock choy and avocados all on promotion in all our stores.
