The Bread & Butter Project x IndigiGrow Bakery Range

The Bread and Butter Project and IndigiGrow collaboration

A Bakery Range Bringing Cultures Together

A new bakery collaboration has arrived at Harris Farm Markets, bringing together social enterprises The Bread & Butter Project and IndigiGrow through a shared love of food, culture and community.

Using native Australian ingredients including lemon myrtle, pepperberry, wattleseed and saltbush, the indigenous-inspired range is handmade in Marrickville by refugee bakers using locally sourced ingredients supplied by Indigenous-owned social enterprise IndigiGrow.

Launching around National Reconciliation Week, Refugee Week and NAIDOC Week, the collaboration celebrates cultural connection while supporting training, employment and community inclusion for both refugee and Aboriginal communities.

Food With Purpose

Since 2013, The Bread & Butter Project has helped refugee bakers build new careers in Australia through hands-on training, English language support and paid employment pathways in the baking and hospitality industries.

Meanwhile, IndigiGrow works to sustain people, culture and Country through native plants and bush foods, sharing traditional knowledge while creating employment opportunities for Aboriginal communities.

By combining their expertise, both organisations are helping create meaningful social impact through every loaf, brownie and baked treat.

Celebrating Native Flavours

The range introduces customers to uniquely Australian flavours in a fresh and approachable way, using ingredients that have been celebrated and cared for by First Nations communities for thousands of years.

Supporting Community Inclusion

Every purchase helps support training, education and employment programs run by both organisations, creating lasting opportunities for refugee and Aboriginal communities alike.

“Collaborations such as this one have enormous benefits for our people, new Australians and the wider community.”
