Supporting Manly’s Iconic Sporting Events

Manly is built around movement — ocean swims at sunrise, coastal runs on the weekend and community events that bring everyone together. That’s why our long-standing partnerships with Sun Run and Cole Classic feel like such a natural fit.

These iconic Northern Beaches events are about more than competition. They’re about participation, wellbeing and local pride. Each year, thousands of runners take on the Sun Run course from Dee Why to Manly, and swimmers line up for the Cole Classic, continuing a tradition that’s become part of the fabric of the area.

At the forefront is the Sun Run — a scenic run from Dee Why down to Manly Beach — which isn’t just a chance for thousands of locals and visitors to test themselves on the pavement, it’s also a significant fundraiser. In 2026 more than 10,000 participants helped raise well over $100,000 for charities doing important work across Australia. The event traditionally channels support to causes such as cancer research and organisations making a difference for people with disability and diverse needs. Supporting participants on the day, we supplied thousands of fresh fruit to help keep them fuelled and refreshed at the finish line. Simple, seasonal fruit is one of the most effective ways to replenish energy after endurance events — natural sugars for recovery, hydration support and essential nutrients, all in their most accessible form. It’s straightforward, real food doing what it does best.

Complementing it on the calendar is the Cole Classic, one of Australia’s most iconic open-water swims. For decades this ocean swim has brought together swimmers of all ages and abilities, not just for the experience of completing the course from Shelly Beach to Manly Beach, but also to fundraise for meaningful community causes. Collectively, participants and organisers have contributed more than $1 million to charities through this event alone.

Together, our involvement in both Sun Run and Cole Classic reflects what Neighbourhood Goodness looks like in practice: backing the communities we operate in and supporting initiatives that encourage active, healthy living. These events bring people together across generations and ability levels, and we’re proud to play a small role in helping them happen year after year.
