The other smashing promotion of the week is the lamb hind shanks. The hind shank is the meatier shank of the two, and has more muscle in it than the fore shank, so your bone to meat ratio is high, and definitely represents serious value. I would be grabbing a few and putting them away in the deep freeze at this price. The shanks this week come from Country Fresh, which is based in Northern NSW, these have had numerous customer compliments in the past so I know they will be a winner.
We definitely needed a roasting line this week, and a boned and rolled pork porterhouse roast is the one this week. It is a great product to roast, and is full of flavour. If like me, you go a bit crazy without steak in your life, you will be pleased to know that we have a grass-fed scotch fillet off some awesome coastal Victorian stock. So soft, they are great to cook on the pan or BBQ, and with a bit of oil and salt, you will get the illusive steak crust everyone so desires. Just remember, high heat, and don’t forget to rest it for optimum results!
