Pick of the Week - Blood Oranges
A sought after treat has arrived in stores this week. In season for only a couple of months in the year, now is the time to pick up a blood orange. Rich and sweet, with berry-like characteristics, they are high in vitamin C, folic acid, calcium, vitamin A, antioxidants and fibre.Try blood oranges in salads, desserts, baking or simply juiced to show its striking colour.
HOW TO PICK
Look for firm red-coloured oranges that are heavy for their size.
HOW TO STORE
Store in a plastic bag in the fridge for up to one month.
